Help with id on the fishy vase...

:D :D :D

Definitely WF.

I've got one 8.75" tall. The bevelled edge is not even. Apparently, they do come with differing numbers of fish in the shoal, the more the better. Mine has 28 little fishies.

Hi Sue, lucky you.  I don't suppose (if you have time) you could put a few good pictures as the catalogue one and the one posted here could be a bit more detailed. ! Thanks Emmi

Sorry, Emmi, I can't work Michael's new camera. It hasn't got a viewfinder bit, only a stupid screen thing that I cannot focus on, so I've no idea what I'm trying to take a picture of, and I can't work the computery stuff that goes with it either!

How many fish do other folk have?
I haven't yet found evidence of differing numbers of fish.
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Never mind Sue, no problem.  Perhaps in the fullness of time?

Just goes to show though that my extensive catalogue browsing pays off...this vase is not exactly one which is easily and immediately recognised, so I am chuffed to have been of help and surprised that my memory was functioning at the right time!!!! It's not (my memory) that brilliant these days

:D  I see you've put it with the Whitefriars pieces Steve!  I did think WF when I saw the fishes, as I missed one on eBay ages ago.  I realised that it was WF after I'd seen it and then couldn't find the darned thing again!!  I was so cross!

I love engraved glass, and seeing the artists hand in it.  It's something I find hard to resist - if I can afford it.

Lovely photos.....nice to see it from all angles.  I am not great photographer, but have found that with these Flint uncoloured vases, best agaianst a black background with a soft flash sometimes works very well. Seems to highlight the detail better.  I also have an anglepoise lamp with a daylight bulb which also works well with these pieces and not always necessary to use any flash.
I am always experimenting with my very amateur equipment...still haven't got round to a proper "tent" or anything else for that matter.  Emmi
