Pressed Glass Collectors Club
« on: November 28, 2006, 01:15:12 AM »
Hello:

Does anybody know if the Pressed Glass Collectors Club organization is still active?  I purchased a number of publications from them about a year ago and am still waiting on one.  I have sent many, many emails with no response.

Thanks

Sid

As far as I know, the club was run by Rod Crowshaw, though i seem to remember having to send payment to a different member when I bought a publication from them last year.

Sid — I don't know whether the club is still in existence.   However their publications are available, and were being offered by English pressed glass specialist dealer Rod Crowshaw on his stand at the recent National Glass Collectors Fair (his stand was about three stands away from ours).    I can't recall whether he had a stand at the last Cambridge Glass Fair, but it is possible, so this is another contact you might like to try.

As you will appreciate, I can't provide email addresses on this public forum, but you will find contact details on their websites:

www.glassfairs.co.uk
www.cambridgeglassfair.com

I suggest that you explain your difficulty to them and ask them to forward your email.

Please send me an email if you you have problems communicating with the fair organisers.

Please also note that I do not own or use any Pressed Glass Collectors Club publications, so cannot comment on their usefulness.

Later — this reply was written before the previous reply.

About a year ago I bought a book from them off eBay and after waiting almost seven weeks and having no replies to my e-mails I wrote once again and gave him 7 days to despatch it or I would file a formal complaint with eBay. I received a reply almost by return and the book within the week. He is abysmally slow at sending things out, and is full of excuses about why they are not sent (printer is out of action is the normal one). I know at least one other person on the board has also had similar experiences to mine.

Thank you very much for all of your replies.  The web URL that I had in my favorites was no longer valid and my google search didn't come up with anything that seemed likely so I was wondering if this club was defunct.

I take scant comfort that I am not the only one who has run into this problem.

Bernard, I am a little hesitant to contact the glass fair organizers just yet but if I don't hear from him shortly will try that avenue.
