Caithness Morven Decanter - in clear glass - ref Lesley Jackson : 20th Century Factory Glass - pp49 - shown design by Domhnall O'Boin 1965 in peat colour - is this clear glass contemporary to that same date?
Any suggestions welcomed

I would have thought so.
The smoke ones are quite common, I've seen a few amethyst, one amber (badly damaged) and now one clear one.

Mark Hill certainly considers clear as one of its most common colours... but which book do you refer to?

:ooh:
Could that be a typo?
The most common ones are definitely peat/smoke. I'm tripping over them in charity shops, while until I saw this, I didn't know they'd ever been done in clear!

I've had two in Heather? (a kind of dirty amethyst) and one, engraved for a golf tournament, in clear.

Once I get all the Caithness glass catalogues onto Scotland's Glass many such puzzles should be solved.
