Topic: Are these Murano?

Any idea of the maker of these items would be very much appreciated thank you, Approx 2.5" tall and just under 3" across.

I'm sure I've seen some very similar ones with 1950-1965 Holmegaard labels before, but I think a lot of factories have made similar pieces and if they were Holmegaard then they'd likely (but not necessarily) be signed.

In addition to Nic's info, I'm sure I've seen a similar design, same colour, with that generic red foil export Murano label - which concurs with Nic that there were probably many factories doing the same sort of design. You might like to copy the request to the Murano board.

In addition I may add that very similar items have been made by Sasaki of Japan, by Leerdam in the Netherlands and by Rigolleau in Argentina, so the chances of attributing these with any certainty have just gone down.

Hi, well even though a respected member of the W/F.com site has voted them as early William Wilson, I have my doubts.  Those very small round bubbles are not in the Wilson style.  I have lots of William Wilson glass - the real deal - and all the bubbles are usually more elongated and spiral around the glass.  I stand to be corrected, but at the moment I am not convinced.  Emmi

I'd be cautious about putting them down as WF too, considering how well documented WF patterns are - and if they have indeed popped up in a variety of colours, as mentioned on WF.com,  then they'd almost certainly be in the catalogues.
