Reconstruction of a Bohemian glass furnace
« on: December 01, 2006, 07:21:45 AM »
Hi,
Some time ago, I recall having read an article on a project to re-construct a Bohemian, wood-fired glass furnace, and now, yes, you've guessed, I cannot find a link or reference to the details of this.
Date would be late 1990's to around 2005.
Any help to locate this article would be much appreciated.
TIA,
Marcus

Bernard please is it YOU whom I recall in this sentence ?
Pamela
Experience teaches that anyone who begins to collect in any field can feel a change in his soul. He becomes a joyful man filled with a deeper empathy, and a more open understanding moves his soul.
Alfred Lichtwark (1852-1914)

Hi Frank,
Thanks. This was not the item I was looking for, but I'm going to buy a copy, as the section on wood-firing is of great interest. The development of new green technologies, for glass-making, makes books of historical information like this, essential reading.
regards,
Marcus

I got the impression, from the description, that the author had been trying out the different techniques and thought it possible the furnace building had been a part of such trials.

Sometimes you can find lost stuff here in the wayback machine http://www.archive.org/web/web.php
