Carnival bowl - Daisy?
« on: December 04, 2006, 05:26:49 PM »
Here's my carnival bowl.  It seems to have a daisy (?) impressed to the inside base and what looks like rose leaves around the lower inside base.

Measures 24.5cm at the widest point, and the base colour appears to be a purpley/red colour.  When held against the light, the daisy appears a pretty, clear amethyst colour, but perhaps the iridescence is colouring it?

I've been through Glens' book 'A Century of Carnival Glass', and I can't find it.  I've also trawled through some sites including David Doty's, and still can't find it.  Seems that carnival glass is very hard to find without a name.

It's got good base wear and an unfortunate slice off the rim.  :(

Hi Max - Cosmos Variant by Dugan (Classic USA Carnival)..

It's not in "Century" as that is primarily about European Carnival.

Crumbs!  That was fast!  Thank you Glen.  I'd never have found it without your help.  Might be time for a new book.
