Identified : Scandy? vase = Dartington FT28 Vase
« on: December 17, 2006, 01:00:14 PM »
Hi Everyone,
Here is a vase I picked up at a boot sale yesterday that I would like some assistance in identifying please?
My first impession was Holmegaard but who knows ???. It has a polished lightly impressed pontil mark.

Thanks,

Hi Bryn,

Would it be possible for you to copy that picture across to the glass gallery? Those tinypic links are very unstable and tend to disappear.

Hi Cathy,
Just followed your instructions , registration completed, but when I tried to download the image I received an error message informing me that my file was too large :o.

Hi Bryn (not Brian)  Perhaps your photo exceeded the Gallery limits of 1024 x 1024 pixels?  Could you resize it a bit smaller and try again?   :)

Hmm...just checked your pic size above and it seems to fall in within the acceptable range.  Think I'll leave this to Anne, the expert, to sort out.  :P :)

Try Irfanview to resize (www.irfanview.com) - it's a freebie - and I've given some hints and tips on how to optimise images on http://www.glassyeye.com

Meanwhile, does anyone recognise the glass?

not as such; I'd think it looks rather Zwiesel than Holmegaard.

There are two limits - and it falls within one but not the other. Size limits are less than 200kb in file size (the image is 313kb so it's failing on that one), and less than 1000 x 1000 pixels in dimensions (this means saving it at a resolution of 72dpi (dots per inch) to make it large enough to be able to see detail.)  ;D

Hi Anne,
I tried all the options including reducing it's size, saving at 72psi as advised etc but with the same results I'm afraid ::).
