Huge Textured (Scandinavian?) Ashtray

(1/2) > >>

Pinkspoons:
Got this monster lump of glass a couple of weeks back. Have hunted about, but can't really find anything similar. I'm assuming Scandinavian, but that's just a guess based on the style and feel.

225mm Diatmeter, 45mm Tall.

Any ideas?

Frank:
My parents had that in brown/amber. 60/70's. Plus, I am fairly certain I have seen it in a catalogue... checked the obvious ones but not found.

Connie:
We have had this here before but the old thread is gone  ???

Anyway - Anchor Hocking Soreno in avocado green

Here is a set for comparison

Pinkspoons:
Wow, I never would have guessed! I always think of red vases when I think of Anchor Hocking, and not much else. Oops.

I'd probably consider buying the full set from that site... but they're fairly weighty (so they'll have high postage costs)... and I don't smoke!  ;D

Thanks for the heads-up, Connie.

Connie:
You are welcome, Nic.

A little more info on the pattern from Florence's Fire King and More book.

Soreno was made from 1966 to 1970.  It was made to go with Harvest Gold and Avocado Green kitchens.  It was a whole dinnerware line.  The pitcher and tumblers are very popular and the pattern is readily available in the U.S.

It was made in Aquamarine, Avocado, Milk White Cyrstal, Honey Gold, Lustre, MardiGras and Aurora.

Aurora is a Mother of Pearl finish.
