Large JIP Opalescent Vase, Help!
« on: January 01, 2007, 09:45:36 PM »
Hello, I'm new to this board but have heard so many nice things about it I thought I would come here for some help. Please bear with me if I'm not doing this correctly.

I have researched every Opalescent book I have (3) with no luck. Since I was told this Vase is Dugan I even searched Carl Burns Dugan Carnival book.

I have been told by someone knowledgeable in Opalescent that this is a Dugan Vase. I also have been to my someone knowledgeable they can find no reference to this being made by Dugan. I can find nothing in any of my books that show a JIP vase by Dugan or any vase with a hexagonal foot, or this star etch.

This vase is 11 inches tall and fantastic quality, I can guarantee it didn't come from Pier One or Taiwan. Can anyone steer me in the right direction please? The color is much brighter than the pic, sort of an electric blue.

I looked through "Dugan/Diamond: The Story of Indiana, Pennsylvania, Glass" by Heacock, Measell, and Wiggins anc could not find any thing remotely similar.  :-\

Hi Adrian

I wish I could help with this unusual vase, but all I can really say is that I also don't think it is Dugan. I've been through a number of books and journals that I thought just might help, but so far...nothing.

Sorry. I'll keep looking.
