Lynne, did you find out the maker of your lovely little bowl?

Nobody has come along and said, no problem it's definitely X but my view from looking at countless pics is that is Venini by Carlo Scarpa.  So that is what I will assume unless I hear to the contrary.

I must get it pictured and listed!

Hi sue, I checked out this link, interesting but they haven't heard of Bollicine.

Now that Paul is around, I wonder if he can cast any light on the terminology?

Looks very much like a Scarpa piece, though normally signed and I've not seen one in this colour, only reservations.

Hi Paul, what I am wondering is what is the difference between the term Pulegoso and the term bollicine - I can only find the term bollicine in the article in the Glass Museum, and I can't seem to find anything that tells me what the difference is?

Hi Lynne, Bollicine is there, you have to look for bubblesw, but i dont think it shows the difference, try la repubblicarts/glass it is written by Marino Barovier, and shows some Carlo Scarpa pieces, you might get an explanation there.

OK from Italian Glass, Murano Milan 1930-1970 defined as follows:-

Bollicine - Glass foam like in appearance with fine air bubbles created by adding wet wood or an oxygen rich compound to the melt.

Pulegoso - Glass foam like in appearance with coarse dense bubbles.

Best I can find, but hope it helps a tad.

That's great Paul, sounds like it is the density of the bubbles.... I am gradually getting there!!
