Hi Guys
I have bumped this topic up as I think I may have found who made this large dish decorated with fir cones.
http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-1541

After read one of Glens articles on a Carnival glass vase with fir cones, I did some more searching and found out that Etling sometimes used the trade name Verlux and  I have seen on ebay an opalescent fir cone piece with Verlux France on it. Would be greatfull for your comments please.

If memory serves, Cappa attributes the Verlux name to Etling. Thus far, I have not found any other source or any reliable evidence to support this, however. To my mind it seems unlikely that Etling, as a retailer would have commissioned pieces to be sold under a different name, particularly pieces so close in style as to compete with his named output. Of course I could be wrong & Verlux could be an attempt at establishing an alternative brand.

If anyone has any further information about Verlux and any association with Etling I would be very interested to hear about it. It would be nice to see a catalogue or at least some written source from the time establishing the link.

Hi Steven
Thank you for your comments, I will keep looking into this.
I belive Sabino had a line of glass called Vernox, maybe Etling was trying to compete with them.

Hi Toni, happy New Year!
On page two of your unknown glass is that # 22/37 - a white bowl

When you told us in April 06 that it is from America I was a little bit mis-led to look only into my depression glass books - already at that time I knew I had seen the pattern before  ;D  8)
