Blenko Blue Vase

Had fun at an auction this weekend and picked up this piece of Blenko. It has a nice lable, but I can't find it in any of my books, Help! I like the fact that the circles are indented with an abstract star pattern in the center of each.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Terry

Thanks CathyG, Do you have any idea of the date for this? I did discover its a Joel Meyers design, but no date. Thanks Terry

It's shown here 3rd row http://sherril2.user.msu.edu/blenko/pictures/images/numbered/myers/index3.html
This site associated with Tammy of the Blenko Collector's Society so I believe the attributions would be reliable.

ooops I see that Cathy, our Blenko expert has already ID'd it. As a prime mover in that society and one of the founders of blenkocollectors.com I think we can also take her word for it.

Double surety !!!
Thanks again Cathy

Yeap, sorry Terry...it was designed in 1968. The first two numbers stand for the year it was made and the last two numbers tell us it was the 12th design for that year. But, this numbering system didn't start until 1953. Winslow Anderson and Wayne Husted came up with the numbering system that Blenko started using. Prior to this other methods were used and today they have changed again. Since Blenko hasn't had a designer in a few years they have pulled old molds and re-made older pieces. Your pitcher is one of the ones they have since remade. It was remade in 2001 with the number 2118 and they even made it in a frosted version, 2118-F. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for the info. With the sticker it has on it, I knew it had to be 1982 or before. I seem to be gathering quite a little collection of Blenko and feel it has to be one of the most fun to collect. Terry

Terry, your photo has vanished, as has the Blenk link. Could you add the pic onto GlassGallery and update the picture link in your first post please? :)
