Thanks Tony. I've written quite a bit about optics, in particular lighthouse lenses, so this is an excellent piece to discover :D

Thanks, yes I was aware of Revolutionary Players - an absolute gold mine for historical researchers of the English Midlands' heritage. How did we manage without the internet? 8)
