Is this custard plate Fenton?
« on: January 12, 2007, 03:15:36 AM »
I need to know what this plate is. I bought it at an antique auction. I believe it to be Fenton horse head medallion, but I cannot find the color anywhere. Does anyone know what it is for sure or the date? It has no signature of any kind.
Thanks

Connie

Yes, it is a Fenton Horse Medallion plate made around 1915.  It is custard glass with a reddish brown decoration called nutmeg by some, but early Fenton catalogs called this "Peach Blo" (notice spelling).  To my knowledge it has not been reproduced.

I had a plate like this once and I sold it, which I regret.  If you put yours up for sale, please let me know.
