Attribution of bucket has defeated various experts who have had the chance to look at it. There is a diamond registration lozenge on the inside base, but it is not readable. This made me think it was probably one of Heppell's two registrations from 1880 and when their moulds went to Davidsons, it was later dusted off for this lidded item. However another collector has one of these and he assures me that it bears the first Greener mark alongside the lozenge on his example. Yet I cannot see any Greener registrations that could obviously match up against this.
Any ideas?
