Topic: Amethyst Daisy & Button Top Hat........how hard can it be?

I picked this up today, despite promising myself I wouldn't buy anything apart from a roll when I went to post a letter (I actually managed to forget to post the letter and brought it home with me!). 

I thought this would be an easy one to identify myself.  HAH!  The pattern was easy.........but Fenton, Boyd, Mosser, or even an unmarked Degenhart..........

2.25" high x 3" wide.

The piece is quite crisp - could have been a new mould I suppose.  Is amethyst rarer?  I couldn't see any on ebay.

Looks like the Daisy and Button carnival glass toothpick holder attributed to LE Smith on http://www.ddoty.com/toothpickscont.html  It is on the 11th row, fourth one across.

Hi Tim - thanks for looking.  Not sure if they rearranged the page after you'd seen it.  It does look like 5th piece 4th row, but it isn't an iridised piece.  Unfortunately, a number of makers seem to have used the same design and I don't know what the differences would be.........size maybe? 

I'm not planning on keeping this particular item and I don't want to mis-describe it.  Maybe we'll get a definitive answer one day, then again maybe these are items that can't ever be really attributed 100% to one maker.  I don't know - But the site was very useful and has been added to the growing list!
