Ever been on an Easter Egg treasure hunt? The one where you find a clue that may lead you to the answer? :)

As a matter of interest, how much did you pay for it?
 :)

If you like, but I do charge for valuations/attributions!  :) Tell you what...how about a side bet....if someone can prove to you that it is not William Walker, then I'll give you twice what you paid for it and you keep the paperweight....but if it turns out that it is William Walker, then you give it to me!!  ;D ;D

People who have run glass galleries and also ran exhibitions for glass artists, including a certain W Walker, and probably handled more of his work than anyone bar the artist and assistants, should perhaps not be making unfair bets >:D Does the illegality of insider knowledge also cover the art trade.

Why not?

Tiffany expert goes into antiques shop and says:
"How much is the Tiffany vase in the window?"
Dealer replies: "It's not Tiffany, it's a fake"
Tiffany expert replies "Well I think it's Tiffany"
Dealer says I wish it was but it's a modern copy.
Tffany Expert replies: "How much is it?"
Dealer says "$25".
Tiffany expert says I'll take it", and on the way out says "by the way you can find one like this in my book".

Is there a difference? Expert has given the dealer the nod that it is Tiffany. Dealer could have upped the price. Dealer thinks they know better. What more is expert to do? Do you have to publish a book to be an expert?
