Ferro Italarts Bowl
« on: February 11, 2007, 02:06:53 AM »
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help me identify the maker of this bowl, has a label, Ferro Italarts, could have a u or o after the s.
The bowl is very thick, with twisted ribbons and filigree, and is a brilliant green.
I've searched the internet for this label, but can't find anything.

Hope the photos come through, not really sure if I've done it right!
Thanks, Sandra

Thanks Andy,

It would be nice to be able to know which Ferro, I thought maybe Galliano, but then there is Giorgio, Luciano, and Giulio!  Could be another Ferro workshop that I haven't found yet! If it wasn't for the label would have said it's AVeM. I'm sure someone will know.

Hi Sandra,

This may be your maker http://www.ferromurano.it/azienda_gb.htm

If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

Hello Deltab

Thanks for that, I've sent an email to them asking if they recognise the label. The work they do is very different, it seems to be very light and has an iridized look to it. It gets a bit confusing with the Murano familys, specially when they moved to other workshops. I'd put this bowl around the 50's -60's, but someone out there might have a better idea.

Thanks, Sandra

Hello Sandra,
Your piece is in fact a vintage piece.
Giulio and Luciano Ferro worked for the A.Ve.M. Later on they formed their own company. Therefore the A.Ve.M. style but Ferro Italarts label. The website that Deltab posted is for the newer Yalos Casa items.

Hello Javier,

Thanks for that, was going to send pics to you the other day in my email, and forgot! It's a lovely bowl, and good to know it's history.
Thanks again,
Sandra
