Carnival glass goblet - ID = Indiana Glass Harvest (Grape)
« on: February 25, 2007, 03:37:25 PM »
I have looked everywhere and can't find this carnival glass goblet, neither shape nor pattern.

Seems contemporary to me? Base glass an aqua sort of colour, no makers marks I can see.

Any help gratefully received,

goblet:

inside to show base colour better

Thank you very much!

Yes - it is contemporary. It's Indiana Glass "Harvest (Grape)" (Dunkirk, Indiana). You see it on eBay a lot, you'll probably recognise it if I describe the punch sets as being a huge bowl with 12 cups and a plastic ladle.

You can see the original Indiana ad in this article - plus some of the other shapes in the pattern.

EDITED TO ADD....you can also read about it and see a photo of it in my flipping book!  >:D ("A Century of Carnival Glass")

Thank you very much Glen   8) ;D

Believe it or not I went through every link on the carnivalglass.org site, including the newbies, AND your site, AND 101, AND DD's, AND looked at all the goblets on ebay, before I came here and bothered you... :o

I'm saving up for your book(s)...  ;D

I wish they came up 2nd hand more often...
Thank you very much!

You should have asked Santa for it a couple of months ago, Lynne :st:

Is it my books that you are looking for second hand - or the Indiana goblets? I assume you mean my books? I really hope they don't come up second hand much at all, as that means they are not everything we meant them to be.

Talking about the Indiana goblets now - I have a set of 8. We use them when we have Carnival Glass dinner parties! They look stunning, and they take a hefty sized amount of wine too  ;D

I did ask him, but I got one on Chintz instead.... sigh...I've spent so much money on reference books this year, I can't buy any more at the moment.  Next quarter. If the VAT man leaves me anything to spend... :'(

and yes, I did mean your book.  That IS worth getting second hand  ;D.  The Indiana is nice, but....

I'd sooner have my nice Riedel..

Thank you very much!
