Topic: Parrot vase.

Hi,
I was strolling through Ebay the other day and came across this very deco looking vase on offer in a general sort of catagory. I made a bid which was a bit higher than I wanted, getting a little bit carried away as you can. Doh! But it was nice.
When it arrived it was very dirty which worried me. But it cleaned up fine and there was no damage. It also glows  beautifully under UV.
The problem was my wife does not like having birds in the house and this piece has 2 parrots or owls on either side. So it has to go. 
I was thinking it was probably Czech or Walther.  Could someone direct me to maker please.

Definitely Brockwitz, shown in the 1936 & '41 catalogues (available from S. Geiselberger at pressglas-korrespondenz.de) as 'Blumenvase Nr. 6925'

I know of another solution, but your wife may not like that either!

I have the rose pink version of this gorgeous Brockwitz vase. I've seen (but didn't buy because of damage) a vaseline example of the taller budgerigar vase (also Brockwitz). They are wonderful items and congratulations on your purchase.

I was also looking out for a butterfly lady vase on Ebay, but just realised that butterflies have wings too so that would also have just as brief a life in this humble abode, before having it's bags packed.
