Purple iridescent vase - any id please?
« on: February 27, 2007, 02:20:07 PM »
This is much nicer in the flesh than it might look here - but no signature again... ???

Anyone have any ideas where I should start looking?

Not quite as much surface texture as these, Sue, and it seems all these are signed and dated.

But aren't they lovely!
Thank you very much!

That's why i said similar, and yes they are lovely, but what a dent to the pocket.

It seems to me that if I could buy everything I like, my pockets would be unidentifiable due to the dents... :-[

I never seem to like cheap stuff...
Thank you very much!

Can you see through the base easily? I don't know how many companies did this style of base but I think Gozo did.

I got no proof though.  ::)

Hi Tony, yes, the base glass is quite clear.  I thought Gozo, because of the streaks, but can't find one of their designs with the oil spots.

Thank you very much!

Hi Lynne
How about Makora (Krosno)?  It looks quite typical of some of their output.
See http://www.makora.com
You need to register if you want to see all of the catalogue.
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks Chris, I've registered so will report back when my id and password come through.  But it DOES look very promising... the bowl shape is very similar.

And I think I may have found another spotty bowl that has been sitting on a shelf waiting patiently...

 ;D ;D
Thank you very much!

hmmmmm

Had a good look through all their stuff, and the simple bowls seem to have a ground rim, and nothing seems to be irridescent.

I am still wondering about Gozo, or even early Mdina.
Thank you very much!
