Title: Royal Bethersden
Post by: tropdevin on February 10, 2009, 10:20:23 PM
I imagine that Royal Bethersden is just a marketing name for some other manufacturer. Any idea who really made this paperweight (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=2&campid=5335820906&toolid=10001&customid=&ext=290294997751&item=290294997751)?

Hi Alan

Other than establishing that Bethersden is in Kent I cant add much as
I can find no trace of a glassmaker in the Bethersden area.

I wonder if AA has any ideas on that front. Seems strange to use an
actual place name unless there was some definite connection with it.

The picture is poor but I suspect given the size of the run (1000) that
the logo is printed onto a ceramic plaque then encased like Mosser
weights and some Murano.

Best regards

Derek

Ask the Police Federation, perhaps? http://www.polfed.org/contactus.asp
