Glass / Re: Black glass enamelled ginger jar

I think you'll find it very difficult to find a replacement. It's hard to see the detail of the enamelling because you photo is out of focus but it might possibly be Bohemian, you don't say whether it was bought new so it might be anything from late Victorian to mid 20th. century.

Glass Paperweights / Paperweight /shot glass
« Last post by bat20 on Today at 12:49:10 PM »
Hi ,I’ve posted this glass on this site before with no luck,so I thought I’d give it a whirl on the paperweight section and hope someone recognises the canes ,although this section does seem slightly deserted these days .My uneducated guess it’s English and possibly second half of the 19th century. It has a lot of wear and a broken pontil, there are obvious tooling marks. Thanks .

Thanks for the tip Ivo.  I'll take another look around.  It could have been something I spotted in Pressglas-Korrespondenz, so I could be here for weeks trying to find it :)

PV as in Portieux Valérysthal?

Your other more recent post on the Percival Yates insulator prompted me to look at this again.  And once again I can't remember where I've seen it recently but I've definitely another reference to this grid formation pattern being French.  I can't remember what it was I saw though, whether it was a piano insulator or another type of item  ???

This is an identified example for comparison of detail:

They are hard to photograph but it would be nice to see a close up of the face/head, and  from the side perhaps if you can manage a good shot.  Nice to see the detail.  Thank you.

I also came across this old thread about Jostra which might be worth looking at again:
https://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,55227.10.html

however, looking at the pictures in this thread from Jostra, I couldn't see anything which had a similar base and the lamp post one doesn't look the same:

He is extremely lightweight.
I can see similarities with some of the archers and slim figures. I think mine is a bit more crude than those.
Thanks very much for the links.
I posted a link in a Zeleny Brod Facebook group so may have some luck there.

I'm now wondering if this was a Zelezny Brod Sklo figurine from 1955 (see page 12).  I don't know if  have it anymore - perhaps packed away somewhere.
