Is this bird on ebay anything or nothing as I sort of like it.

Sorry don't know who made it but if you like it, then surely that's a good reason to go for it. I can see the attraction.
-
I'd rather think of FM Rønneby (Marcolin) or of Barbini than IOW. Anyway, looks well made so you probably will not regret it.
-
Well I was thinking along Italian lines.
-
Nice piece, probably Salviati from the 1970's.

well it's got to be cheap then.... go girl go, you have an hour to get your bid in!!
-
I'm a last minute bidder me. Just watching at the moment (after just getting back from being called out to a flat tyre). Just wondering how much I want to spend on it :)

Hmmmmm ..... have I made a wrong assumption here? So are you a highly engineered girl, or should it have been go MAN go??
-
No not a man nor highly engineered. I know how to change a wheel but never know where to put the jack! So I went and picked them up. But in my youth I could strip down and change a motor cycle clutch.
-
MINE for £7 plus P &P :D
-
Oh well done! It is rather nice for that small amount.
Now you can properly attribute it and make a FORTUNE!
-
Paul, not that I don't trust your judgement but do you think I ought to get more opinions on the Murano board? I actually bought it for myself but then I often do that and then sell something. Just in case.
-
Lovely bird, and with that base, I would say most probably 1950s Murano glass. It's going to be very difficult to attribute it to any one maker, although Alfredo Barbini is a strong contender. I've never seen one quite like it (which is a good thing). I especially like the yellow murrine eye.

Well the bird arrived in one piece-and I wonder how. Wrapped in bubble in a loosely tied bag of poly chips. This bag then placed in a box with 2" of space all around it and sliding around in the box. The 'wear' on the back at the bottom is actually 2 fleabites-however I can live with those they are very small because THE BIRD IS BEAUTIFUL! Held in the light the blcak and silver neck shows purple. It really is a delight.
-
Will we get some better pics then, Pat?
Maybe it can be attributed better if it can be seen from more angles.
-
I'll do it tomorrow because the daylight has gone now.
-
I tried and tried to get a photo of the purple neck in the light but it would not come out. Anyway here are more pics of it and the bottom.
