Title: Unusual Fratelli Toso Skinny Top Vase
Post by: horochar on August 07, 2011, 01:12:52 PM
This piece measures 15" (38 cm) tall and has the generic label used by Fratelli Toso in the 1950s.  I've never seen anything quite like it, in person, in a book or on the internet (although I do not own the Fratelli Toso book).  Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Charles.

Hi there --

I do not think I have either.  Mind you, there are Zillions of Web pages yet to find. So I would be

Hello Charles,
This is supposed to be a Decanter.
The design you can see on his paperweights, so it has been translated into a Decanter.
I have the same shaped decanter in Red, and another in Orange with Gold both with the "Made In Italy" label.
Sorry there is no other info out there.

Thanks Javier!  Just plugging in the term "decanter" into the Google search changes everything.  If it isn't too much trouble, it would be great to see an image of one of your pieces with the stopper.  (I'd post a link to a similar image on the net, but what's the point since a few months from now the link will be gone.)

Sincerely,
Charles.
