Hi all! Happy New Year 2012! :ho:
Can anyone advise which Murano company used a fish logo like the one below (on a faceted dish) ? I'd be glad of any help. T.I.A

By the way, it's not a label, it's part of the glass with cut outline of the fish.

I don't know of any that used a fish as a logo. Do you think the fish may be part of the design? Is it etched on, or is it colored glass inside (or on) the glass. I can't tell from your photo. Fish are very popular for decorating Murano (and other) glass.

Bigger pictures might help.

Hi both! Thanks for your replies and I'll try to get better pics. The design is to the base and the colours are within the glass with a part-outline cut into the glass.

More pics but I'm not sure if they're any better than the others!

You're right Anita, it could easily just be part of the design. As it was placed to the base I made the assumption that it was some kind of signature / logo. However, because of the multi-reflecting nature of the facets, it's probably been placed just for decor - and very good it is too, multiplied over and over!

It is interesting how it was made using both glass and cutting to design the fish. It is the first time I've seen this done. I hope someone knows who made it.

It's intriguing and I've not seen another anything like it.

This shows how the fish is multiplied by the facet cuts - usually just sommerso colour.

HI
The fish is definitely part of the design and it might not be Murano. Baccarat used this faceted technique quite extensively so it might be by them, however they always used an acid etched signature on their pieces
