I was hoping for information about this piece. Appears to be a "scavo"vase with irridescent sheen to body and handles. Measures 9 1/4" tall, and bears no signature. Date? Producer? Thanks!

Charles,
i'm wondering if you ever got an answer on this vase? i have one that is very similar (a little larger and double handles on each side but close enough that they could be related) and mine has a label on the bottom. i'm assuming it's a generic label of uncertain age. it's identical to this one http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?album=102&pos=8 (http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?album=102&pos=8)

Wow, old post. No, I never did a get an authoritative response, although I'm not optimistic it's anything special or particularly old. Still it's an attractive "neo-Roman" (I think) piece.
Charles.

Charles,
i suspected as much. i bought a few pieces like this (i can't imagine what possessed me ha ha). i generally enjoy a style more in keeping with mid-century mod so, these were a novelty to me. even though i'm fairly certain they are of little value i have a soft spot for them as i would for an ugly puppy.
have a super day,

I think it's repro ancient glass - the type they sell in museum gift & tourist shops in Italy and Israel.
