Title: Did Higgins always sign their pieces? Is this Higgins?
Post by: pam roybal on May 21, 2005, 08:45:03 PM
This piece is 10" x 10" and it has Dorothy signed in gold, could that be the artist? I have been searching ebay and the internet looking for information in regards to the Higgins signature but can't find anything.
Thanks
Pam

Hi Pam,

Higgins did always sign their glass in one way or another (etched or gold screen depending on when it was made), with the exception of ornaments. The piece you have is not Higgins, but you can do a google for Higgins and find their site, their still in business.

Hi Pam,

I was thinking about your piece and it came to me, it's most likely a Dorothy Thorpe piece. You might want to go in that direction.

Cathy,
Thank you for the information regarding Dorothy Thorpe, I have never heard of her. I will start searching the net tonight to see what I can find.
Thanks Again
