Title: Opaque with amber swirl bowl ID = L.J. Houze Convex Glass Co.
Post by: deco.queen on July 08, 2011, 11:51:19 PM
Hi,
I had bad pictures of this on facebook and Anne and Tony asked for a dark background, so here they are. I'm not even sure what to call the glass, end of the day, slag, onyx...I just haven't seen one like this in so long it has me puzzled. The bowl is 9" across the top, 3.25" tall with 3 feet. The grapes are raised and the inside ones and outside make them even around the bowl 3 inside, 3 outside. Thank you for looking!
I stop by every day to see what pretty glass you've posted.
Janice

Wondered who on earth Houze were, so googled and found this history. Hope it helps someone!

Here in the U.S. Houze is best known for the figural lamps as they & L.E. Smith produced many designs that are now identifiable after decades of being unknowns.
