Just curious about this fabulous weight which sold recently on eBay, is it Clichy?

The weight does contain a "clichy rose" cane which is at the front in the bottom photo. This is always a pointer to Clichy! However the vendor has got it wrong in that this is not a "chequer" design as he describes. The couloured canes are not separated by latticino canes as a chequers wright would be. In this weight they are separated by white canes. However with the canes and the basket base it is a very nice weight

That is a really gorgeous weight!

Baccarat also made rose canes but that little ring of canes around the center looks just like the canes in some other Clichys in my Selman auction catalogs. I would describe this weight as a spaced millefiori on a white star (or flower, can't tell) carpet ground in a stave basket.
