I bought this paperweight about a year ago at Bonhams Scottish Sale, I don't really collect paperweights, though this design appeals to me. What I would like to find out did Peter Holmes produce a range of planet weights and if so what other planets did he produce. There is a PH cane on the base. The script on base reads Selkirk Glasss Scotland 1984 Saturn 6/350

He didn't make a range, only an earth globe which is much larger than an average weight. Saturn is an exceptional weight and regarded as one of the best made by Peter at Selkirk. What you really want is one where the rings are at an angle, though I've never seen one for sale!
Mind me asking what you paid? I brought mine for a crazy £26 about 5 years ago but it should be a £50+ weight.

Hi Ian thanks for the information. This weight was sold at Bonhams and was part of one collectors collection of Scottish paperweights (over 130). The Saturn weight was estimated at £150-£200 and with no bids on it I put a bid of £30 and won it for that price. As I had only £40 left from budget after buying a piece of Monart it was going to my first and last bid, so I was pleasantly surprised in winning it.
