Title: Crackle vase in Eva Vargova's gallery -- who/when/where?
Post by: rocco on January 01, 2012, 02:16:11 PM
Does anybody know more about this crackle vase with applied coloured prunts?

I would thinks that it is Czech like the other pieces in the gallery (although the crackle finish seems a little unusual for postwar Czech glass?).
I have seen a similar vase here in Vienna, so am curious to find out more :)

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael,
I suppose it could be Czech.  There is one on Aukro at the moment, but unattributed: http://aukro.cz/vaza-91202-17-i2023950943.html . Perhaps Jindrich would be able to tell us more?

Thanks a lot for the link, Anik! :kissy:

Exactly the same vase, the pinched section in the one I saw here was a little nicer, though :)
If Czech -- who could be the maker and designer? Chribska? Hospodka?

Michael, do you remember what the base looked like in the vase you saw?

If I remember correctly the base was flat and polished with beveled edge (so it did look quite Czech).
