Title: Liqueuer glass, czech?
Post by: Gill on November 19, 2006, 10:32:09 AM
Second one, picked up this little glass at a church fete. I think it looks czech, condition is splendid so could be quite new, the pink colour also looks quite modern. The pattern looks older to me though especially with the lens effect.  Don't really mind what it is really because it's just so pretty! Pictures don't do justice.

Thanks again, Gill :)

Could be Czech, could be VSL too if the stem is faceted - unable to see that from the pic. If round on a circular foot, it would most probably be Czech. Similar items have been produced as far afield as Portugal, Hungary and Serbia - so no guarantee.

thankyou Ivo!, Yes the stem is faceted as is the knop and the little bit beneath the bowl, any idea as to age? Cheers, Gill

no, these have been in production from the early 19th ct. to yesterday, and it is a classical model, so no way to tell the age stylistically.

Fair enough, as I say my guess is fairly modern, certainly very nice, thanks again, Gill :)
