I am quite new to this world of glass collecting, and so my question may be fascile, old hat, ridiculous or whatever.
Did Davidson "Luna" range vases only come in square/rectangular section or were round section vases produced?
Thanks for your time,
michael

Welcome to the GMB :)
I hope that someone will be able to assist you with this, I know the vases you mean but I'm not sure if they did do anything else but square! I can't bring to mind a circular one, but it seems strange that they didn't make that style, doesn't it? ::) Hopefully someone (Pip maybe?) will know for sure.

Hi Michael, welcome to the board.
Hmmm interesting question, I know there are round Luna bowls and square Luna vases, but like Max, I don't know if they made round Luna vases...

What do you think of this?
Please excuse terrible photography!

Hmmm I don't think it's a Luna vase, Michael. Loads of firms made these textured ones and some are hard to pin down. Oberglas or IngridGlas might be possibles, is it all one colour red or does it change part-way down? (Can't tell if it does or if it's a shadow.)

I've personally never come across anything other than the regular square shaped Luna vases - as Anne has already said both Ingridglas and Oberglas made vases which could be mistaken for round shaped Luna (I suspect that most of the round, non-WF textured vases I come across are Ingridglas).

hi,i had one of these vases in green, they are cased vases but the glass was very thin.and the vase looked factory made, possibly to rival whitefriars bark vases.
i have heard the a birmingham co called jones and company ,made bark effect vases also.
-
i forgot to add,pip mentions ingrid glass.i have seen these vases up close and they are quite thick and chunky with a deep bark pattern, the bark effect on these vases were more like lots of little craters.

This vase is rather thin gauge glass, but it does change colour, to a dark smokey colour.
Thanks for all your help!

Forgot to mention that the item has four "seams" (what do you call them in glass?) so it is def. factory made!
