I didn't pay much for this. Actually, it was free with my Sowerby bowl. It has a crack in it though. 4.60 inches diameter. 370 grams.
Loads of imperfections including a burst bubble, Bubbles in the glass, some white clumps and dark green bits near the base.

:D :? :D
Hello Tiger, It reminds me of Dugan glass. Have a look at this site.

Yes, well done, it has the same sort of frit decoration. :D
The examples of Dugan that are shown look thinner on the rim. I will look into it.
The more I look at it, the more I think it isn't crackle glass and that it has been blown into a mould to give it that pattern. :)
It is smooth and bumpy on the inside.

Hello,
Doesn't look mould blown to me. The surface looks like that I've seen on some late 19th century glass, water jugs in particular. I believe it is sometimes called 'ice glass' and is made by rolling the molten bubble of glass in crushed glass pieces then reheating to fuse them into the surface. No idea as to maker though....

I agree that it doesn't look like crackle glass and that the effect is by application.
I seem to recalll that Glen (I think) covered types of "crackle-like" effects in a message some time ago. Or was it on a web page elsewhere?

Thanks. :D
I thought it was blown moulded because the pattern can be felt on the inside. Unless it is just the way the decroration has been applied. :?
It's also a bit strange that it has absolutely no wear to the base. I suppose it all depends where it's been sitting all these years. :?
It's also very dirty and greasy like it hasn't been washed for long time.
