I bought this one from D&A when I bought the big as I was intrigued by the label and also to see the difference in this one with my Poli bowl of the same type (which I will post once I locate the box it is in). Gorgeous pale green/blue sommerso bowl in the water optic effect. The glass in places is 5cm thick and it weighs about 6kgs.
D&A have it down as either a draft by Poli or by Mario Pinzoni. My guess is that is actually Pinzoni and not Poli. The label is same shape as the SVdA label and it reads Sculture *something* Murano S.p.A, Made In Italy at the bottom. I can't make out the writing in the middle or the picture. There is a SAM in a box underneath this. Has anyone else seen this label before or have a piece with a similar label? Do you think it is a Pinzoni or a Poli piece?

Some more pics...Sorry about the label pic...the best i can do at the moment...i took about 20 shots and this was the best for now...although here is the link to the auction with a better shot of the label...

Very impressive piece!
My best guess regarding the label would be "Sculture Artistiche Murano S.n.A"

You could be right rocco but it is S.p.A. If only I could read whats in the middle. Will need a bigger magnifying glass I think...Dimensions are 9.5cm high and 25.5cm in diameter...

I've had a huge one of these in clear glass (sans label), and still have a smaller oval-shaped one in cased blue with a common-or-garden Seguso label that's the same shield-shape as yours.
So I'd be interested in the designer too. :)

Do you have pics of the clear one pinkspoons???
I have seen a yellow like this with the same label. It was gorgeous as but didn't buy it...

I sold it before I had chance to photograph it. It arrived the day before a fair, and I sold it the first day there.
Great for business, terrible for posterity! ;D

:thud: LOL...oh well. I will try to locate the Poli one in the next week or 2. They are definitely different bowls after handling this one.

Update
According to Heiremans great book:
the water optic ("resina a corteccia") range was designed by Mario Pinzoni around 1966.

Sculpture Artistiche Muranesi S. A. M. (1973-1976).
1973 Maurizio Albarelli acquired some of the assets and began operation as Sculpture Artistiche Muranesi S. A. M.

So it looks like my green piece is a copy of the Pinzoni piece. I think Angelo Seguso & Pino Signoretto were working at the company at this time.
Rocco, I also have the exact same one as yours :)
