Title: scottish paperweight

hi there i listed this paperweight on ebay yesterday and have been asked quite a few questions about it .

can anyone pin down the maker by the canes to help answer the queries , i bought it at auction as Scottish and with a possibility being ysart

I have used a uv light and it floureses a strong  green colour if that helps

I think it is most likely Ysart Brothers (Vasart) [1946 - 1956].

It's a good example of a neatly formed concentric with a colour combination that works (for me) better than some of the regular weights from that period. The canes are of the "satandard" type, albeit better than some of the basic ones, seen in many weights from the Ysart Brothers period.

Whether Salvador Ysart had his hands on it is not something I could say. But I am sure there are some folk who would consider (without any real evidence) that it was made by him and in the 1930s rather the 1940s/50s!
