Title: crystal lotus candle holder
Post by: Ivo on November 01, 2012, 01:45:57 PM
Crystal candlestick height 10cm = 4" and weighs a ton. The bottom is polished flat with a polished out pontil mark - which used to be a standard way of finishing things in Leerdam. However, I have not been able to establish this item as Leerdam, and several factories in Sweden and France have used an identical finish.

Doth it ring a bell, anyone?

p.s. if you google "lotus" you get lots of fake swarovski type glitter.

You seem to be having a penchant for flat-based, lobed bodies at the moment!
I've not seen anything like it, sorry, but I am wondering if Japan might be a direction to look in, or at least eliminate first?
Your yellow beast looks very Japanese to me, and the similarity in overall base shape (a lotus) might be one that is appreciated there?

I've googled myself silly but have not found any freeform Japanese in solid yellow - nor have I found any in clear crystal.
