Title: pale green frosted bowl - ID = Sowerby 2549
Post by: Simba on July 25, 2012, 11:37:14 PM
I picked up this lovely pale green frosted bowl today at a Charity shop. Its a beautiful heavy shallow bowl I guess it was part of a cente rpiece. Any one have any idea who made it and what the figure would have been like ?  .......Please  :)

I have one of these and a couple of plates, looks like a Sowerby 2549 Uranium Bowl Simba, not sure if it's a centrepiece or not.

That is the one Jayne showed. The 1940s catalogue just describe it a a bowl, so it probably wasn't specifically for a centrepiece

Thanks Simba, yes as Christine said, sold as a bowl but could be used as a centrepiece bowl.:)
