Title: More Fleamarket Find Huge Triple Cased Goblet/Vase Italian
Post by: suzi99 on January 07, 2006, 03:48:26 AM
Hi again this was another one today that I picked up it is a really large piece measuring around 10 1/2 inches tall .  It appears to be triple layered with purple over white over a lighter purple.  The diameter of the cup is 5 inches.  I was wanting the wonderful opinion of the people here who have helped me so much in identifying lots of my glass. :D

Only 2 layers Suzie and of course only in the cup.
It may appear pale pinkish/ purplish inside due to the thinness of the layers and the translucency of the glass.
That suggests to me that it is Italian altho some Scandinavian companies have done this type of glass (cased over white).
I find generally that the Scandi's used either a thicker layer of white or it was more opaque or both. This also means that the depth of color in the coloured layer is generally more even. However this is just an observation and may not always be the case.
