This is signed JN Nuutajarvi-notsjo '64. Is it possible that the designer would be Jaako Niemi?

It's a cute bird - it looks even better without fingerprints all over it  :oops:

Hi Cathy,
The bird is Jaakko Niemi - I've a clear one marked with the full surname, dated '61. He also did some really cute ducks!

Brilliant Robbo - thank you very much! They're not as interesting as the Oiva Toikka ones, but still there's something cute and globular about them. They're a bit like the BHP Billiton logo.

Hi Cathy,
I quite like the simplicity of them, especially the duck, compared to some of the Toikka birds. I see what mean about the BHP Billiton logo  :P
