Title: One more vase, Clear, Hooped,Scandinavian?
Post by: Gill on September 09, 2007, 01:41:56 PM
This is another vase that I've seen described as "Rare Holmegaard or Rihhimaki" Rare because it's clear I think. Once again, I don't think so but would welcome a view from the experts. Some wear to base. 30cms Tall, 18cms across rim and weighs 1600gms. Cheers again, Gill

Hi Gill.  I thought it was a Riihimaki "trumpet" vase at first, seen here, no.28 <link removed> however, the hoops on yours are lower down. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon... ;)

Thankyou Anne. The link you give looks like a good site, unfortunately everytime I click on it at the momemnt it tries to install a programme that I don't want  I will have a look later!

Hi, it's not a Riihimaki trumpet vase by Tamara Aladin - here's a ruby one I sold for comparative purposes - don't know who made yours though but I'm fairly certain it's not Riihimaki or Holmegaard.

Looks like La Mediterranea to me - Spanish recycled glass in the best possible taste.
