Title: Help with identification of glass bowl
Post by: apa on November 24, 2005, 04:41:51 PM
Hello,

I would greatly appreciate any help in finding out more about this glass bowl that I acquired as a spontaneous purchase a few days ago for its beautiful appearance. It was described as an arts & crafts green glass bowl. I have trawled Google etc but can’t find anything similar.

Height: 10cm
Diameter top: 25cm
Diameter base: 16cm

Thank you

Hi Deltab,

I can't tell why you can't see the images, please try these direct links.

It reminds me of the design seen on the vase discussed in this thread

http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,2759.0.html

The link to the Harrach vase on Trocadero no longer works.  The item probably sold.  But if I remember correctly it was similar to your bowl - a smooth glass  rather than an optic mold.

Thanks for that, lots of links to explore on that tread.
I'm just cooking dinner now so will follow them up later.
Thanks

I think it's also a possibility this is by Stuart, England.

sorry about the long link - I couldn't get the clever url thingy to work!

Although I think Harrach made something similar too as Connie said.

By coincidence Max I just got to the same reference from tracing a link to Stuart. The bowl (see photo or link to photo below) is almost identical to mine except mine has more waves / ripples.

I think it's a really lovely bowl, I'd like to have one myself...only I've got nowhere to put it.  :D

By the way, have you used the photo from the website?  I think it's a bit of sticky wicket to use peoples photo's unless you've asked permission, or maybe you have?  Sorry, I'm just a bit wary of litigation!

Hey, that's clever!  I had a go.  I wonder if they stand the test of time?   Maybe that doesn't matter so much if they just go back to long URL's?

On my favourites!

Just found this again and TinyURL doesn't work any more, so I guess that answers Max's question. ::)

This bowl is somewhat similar to one that I was asking for identification on here:-
