I won this interesting vase on ebay a few weeks ago and it's been perplexing me ever since. I've asked on the ebay Glass Chat, and Discussion board, and an art glass collector friend, and so far, still clueless.
It's 9.5 inches tall, top rim is ground, no pontil, the purple lavender color is not a uniform color, it's spatters of lavender in clear glass. The glass is about 1/8 inch thick, the foot is hollow also. The snake glows green under UV light. There's some wear on the base.
Czech/Bohemian origins?

hope you don't mind if I bump this back up there...anyone have any ideas at all?
-
you are welcome to do so, but unfortunately the photos have disappeared  send again - please :)

I am sorry Mary, I cannot help with an ID, but I can see the photos. :? :D
-
I can see the photos fine too, but is anyone else not able to see them?
-
I see them fine as well, Mary. Stylistically and colour-wise it reminds me of the contemporary production at Royal Glassworks (Kralovska Hut) - see their site here: http://www.royal-glassworks.cz (but I may be way off base, of course!).

Yep, they are similar! I've emailed the company to see if any of their glass is made with uranium. Thanks for the lead :D
