Title: Stunning Bor plate and signed ID = Josef Švarc, Bohemia Poděbrady
Post by: norman warbreck on July 13, 2009, 05:20:07 PM
Bought this one recently and was so excited about the quality of the work....i nearly we... myself.
The first pic shows the front of the plate and the second piece shows the reverse.
There is a signature ....that looks like....svorc..with an inverted v over the s. The signature is inscribed on the front along the edge.I would hazard a guess at mid to late 1950 and seen similar plates attributed to Bor glass works but ofcourse that does not mean that this is so.
Any ideas please would be great
many thaks

Dirk, your vase is beautiful.      How tall is it?  And is it also signed?

Both of you are indeed lucky. :kissy:

Thank you, Anik!  :kissy: Funny enough I didn´t buy it Czech Republic on our trip, but
found it last week in Bremen, where I stayed at my friend Oli´s.
Unfortunately it´s not signed - unless I missed the signature. Sorry I forgot to add the
size. Well, I arrived on Sunday night and since Monday morning I´m away on a construction
job... From memory I´d say ~30cm tall.  :)
I´ll add the exact measurements later.
