Title: Tell me about these lustres.
Post by: wlifter on November 24, 2004, 03:19:14 AM
A friend gave me these a few weeks ago.  She knows nothing about them except that they probably came out of a saloon that her grandparents owned in Texas.  Could anyone tell me anything about them.  When made, value, etc. They are 13 3/4 inches high and 6 1/2 inches across.  They are in very good condition.  A little of the gold is worn and 3 chips that you can't see in the base of one of them.

Sorry it took so long, thanks Frank for bumping this. These Mantel Lustres as they are known have a lot of assumptions. It is assumed they date from the late 19th to early 20th century. It is assumed they are Bohemian.
This is a nice pair with cut prisms and a good size. Other than that I am not going to be much help. Terry
