Hi all,
I bought the bowl today & have had the plate for awhile, they both have a green that comes through them but not a glow as depression glass.
The bowl is quite lge @ 23cm diameter by 12cm high sits on feet similar to the edging around the top of the bowl.
Plate is 16cm diameter by 31/2 high & sits on similar smaller feet.
Anyone have any idea's please,old or new,maker?
In the end i just love the detail so its not important, but it would be nice ;D
Mod: see page 2 for larger pictures :)

OMG it worked :o ;D
Ok now for the others ;D

Congrats on getting the pics uploaded, :) but there's a wee problem... they are too small to see the detail. You need to make them around 700 pixels along the longest edge and below 120kb in file size and then attach them to your post. The board will create the small thumbnail view for you which can then be clicked to open the larger version. Give it a go and see how you get on. If you get stuck give me a shout and I'll help. :)

Bummer n i was feeling so proud :-\
Ok i will have a go at it later, cheers kat :)
-
Don't be disheartened Kat, you managed the first part very well, the rest is just tweaking. :)
-
Ok here's another try :-\
I have resized to 195 as anything over will not post as too big, sorry i am on my new laptop & am getting use to it.
I had posted photo's in the past, but it was quite awhile ago & i have forgotten what or how i did it :'(
-
They are still too small and don't blow up. You need to resize a high-res photo so that the longest dimension is about 700 pixels. You have 125kb per picture; that was only 58kb

I have seen a similar pattern in pressed glass site, I will take a look.
Members on the board here gave me a link to Irfanview. Probably the easiest way to resize for pictures on here. Very easy to use and I keep a GMB folder for glass id's on here so no getting mixed up. Just save resized images to a GMB folder in your Pictures folder. Before trying to post pictures just hold your pointer over the picture in your folder and the size will be shown in a pop up.
Step 1: Open up Irfanview
Step 2: Open up the picture you wish to resize
Step 3: Click on Image (third from the left)
Step 4: Click on Resize/Resample
Step 5: On the right hand side of the screen, you will see a series of different size ratios. Click on 640 x 480 and hit the okay button
Step 6: Click on file and then resave the picture with a slightly different name (thereby preserving the original).
Step 7: Try uploading again. (Make sure you chose the new picture, not the original). If it is still too big, repeat Steps 1 to 4 using the new picture
Step 5: On the left hand side of the screen, click where it says "set new size as percentage of original" and set the percentage as 75. Click okay button.
Step 6 to 7 Repeat as before.
Then your pictures should work.

Hi,thanks for the pointers,i'm feeling quite stupid atm :-[ ::)
Anyhoo i will give it a try when all is quiet here, trying to work it out with teens & younger ones tearing around is doing my head in :(
I have just flicked through ebay & came across some that have a similar(slightly)edging, well the small balls sortta effect/pattern.
They are listed as Sowerby with a date line of 1930's,though i am not saying Sowerby could the time frame be right.
I will try again asap, then you maybe able to answer the questions ;D
cheers kat

Just checked & you can only see it very slightly, but it does show a green, truely ;D
No glow ;D
-
It just means glass made from low quality sand and without using a decoloriser
-
Haha that figures, though i still like the pattern ;D
Prob use them on the christmas table set-up.
