Hi Everyone,
I recently acquired this bit of glass and wondered if anyone could help with details of when it was made and what Kosta Boda numbering signifies. I have gleaned it is by Bertil Vallien ( its marked with his name ) and its also marked with the word Atelier followed by the numbers 800086. Internet research has pulled up some of his museum bits but I can find no info on this range on the Kosta web site ( or infact any other web site ) I believe boats were his thing and he has produced many pieces in many different medias and sizes. This boat is roughly 6 " long. Can any of you very kind experts help me out.
Cheers in advance,
David :sc:

Still IS his thing.
It's a boat.
Atelieer means limited edition.
Let me know what else you would like to know.

Thanks Daniel,
would you have any idea when this piece was made, and, if atelieer is limited edition, do i have number 800085!!!!!! JOKE- can i presume that i have number 85 out of an 8000 run?
Cheers,
David :sc:

Around 2000.
Is there any - or / between any numbers or elsewhere?
A atelieer piece is more than 60 and less than 500. Usually NOT individually signed, i.e 125/500.

Daniel,
thanks for all the help on this bit, I have looked and there is definitely no dash or slash between any numbers, and there is a signature on the polished top, do I have a very rare edition ( I should be so lucky!! ) maybe I should try and contact Kosta Boda, I have contacted them before about another bit, but never received a reply.
Cheers,
David

the dash or slash just indicates how many that should be made. Sometimes not included.
I would guess that this boat is a 500 edition.
These boats are always easy to sell.

Thanks very much Daniel, very much appreciated  David
