Title: Pressed lidded jar and silver decorated Deco jar & scent
Post by: david31162 on June 25, 2006, 01:43:00 PM
I thought id ask about the jar as i know nothing at all about this type of pressed piece. It seems to have age [worn base]. Can it be attributed to a factory/country ?

The dressng table pieces are heavy cut and have polised and very worn bases. The silver has been applied and looks silver from the top/outside, gold from inside.I love the pattern it reminds me of Austrian 1910/20 artwork. Am I even close? Ive had a really good seach for these on the Net but I'm obviously using the wrong words as Ive found nothing like them.

The lidded jar is by Josef Inwald, Czech. The pattern is known as Fleur de Lys.

Sorry I haven't answered this earlier - been away - just back.
