Having now got my replacement camera :D and downloaded all the software, I am back with my latest acquisitions in the Victorian Vaseline / Uranium line :roll:

Isn't it strange Leni? You'd have thought someone would have pegged your pieces quite quickly. I guess you've chosen a difficult area to pin down! :?

That's the point, Max! What was the time? :shock: :?
I suppose I'd get answers quicker if I collected things other people liked, such as WF or Murano or Scandi :wink:
But I like my 'triffids', so I guess I'll just happily wait for Bernard, or Mr Vaseline Glass, or one of the others who share my tastes to make a comment :lol:

Your little posey vase has been attributed to Richardson. I have one on the front cover of my book.
I suspect that the vase with the spots is John Walsh Walsh OR Powell.
conjecture, but most likely, due to the precision work.

Dave, I have just looked at the VGCI website, and I notice something interesting on the cover of your book and also on the 'Theme' page under 'English Blown Glass'.
The little posy vase you show has clear glass leaf 'feet', whereas mine has green glass leaf 'feet'. Do you know if this is an indication that they were made at different times, or was it just a variation, or is there some other conclusion to be drawn from this - or none? :? :roll:

The conclusion you can draw is that was the color of glass in the pot the day the piece was made. It was just to make it a little different to possibly appeal to a potential customer that might not want clear glass feet.

I guess that is up to the "real" collector's budget!
I consider myself a 'real' collector and my first one (with the clear feet) was too expensive to try to acquire another. There are just too many other things in yellow-green glass that catch my eye to try to double up. If you were asking about a particular piece of pressed pattern glass and had interest in the pattern, I would encourage you to find all the shapes (sugar, creamer, butter, compote, etc.). However, with blown art glass, it is not really considered a 'set', as each piece is crafted individually and no two are exactly alike.
Each collector decides their own parameter of what they want to add to their collection.
If you are going to go for all variations, I have also seen one with a red blush near the top of the posey vase. The area just above the foot was yellow vaseline, and the whole thing glowed, which meant that a small gather of cranberry was first made, then a larger gather of vaseline was added over the top. I think that one sold for about $175 USD on ebay about 4 months ago. I think my version with the clear feet sold for about $100 when I bought it.

Wow! That sounds stunning! :shock: In spite of what Max & Peter think :twisted: that's the only sort of cranberry or pink glass I really like! :D

Whew! A bit above of my usual budget! Although I do sometimes 'splash out' if it's something a bit special, like the posey vase, for which I paid a similar price to yours :wink:
The 'spotty jam-jar', though, I picked up for under a tenner! :shock: (That's about $17 to you!) Sometimes you just get lucky :lol:

Just trawling through some of the sites recommended here on GMB and I came across this;

Although the shape is different to your "spotty jam jar" the resemblance in pattern is uncanny.

I do have Great Glass bookmarked (among others), but often forget to run through all the glass pages in my 'Favourites' before I ask about new acquisitions :oops: :roll:
